DOWN WITH THE CIA!

"I came to the conclusion that all the values that made me admire the American people were being eroded by the covert operations of the CIA and kindred secret bodies...
"Time after time the United States has generously
aided other countries threatened by famine or disaster. The survival of this
great tradition is of importance, not only to Americans, but also to all freedom
loving people in the world. But in my view, the survival of this great [country]
is now being gravely threatened by the covert criminal actions of the Central
Intelligence Agency and its associated services. If the United States is to be
protected from this grave danger, it is essential that the activities of this
secret agency should be fully exposed to the people of the United States.
"I am a fierce believer in the democratic system of
governments. Among the democracies, the constitution of the United States can
be, and has proved to be, a bastion of civil liberty. However, democracy and the
rule of law could not survive side by side with a state agency that engages in
covert operations ranging from assassinations to levying mercenary armies. Even
if there is now an attempt being made by some to check the activities of the CIA
and the other United States intelligence agencies, the whole concept of a secret
government and army within a government is a menace to the democratic
system." --Sean MacBride, former Foreign Minister of Ireland, and 1974
Nobel Peace Prize recipient; died 1988
"This is not a military defense of Iraq against an
invading army. This is the creation of another layer in this mythology of
victimhood, which has been developed in the Arab world for at least the last
three generations. ... The view is that everything evil comes from outside, from
somewhere else." --Gwyn Prins in an interview March/April 2003
While our fellow citizens fight in Iraq for the good, a
consistent but accelerating danger lurks in the shadow, ready to overtake and
turn upside down our values: Corporate Fascism!

WHAT HAPPENED TO FREE SPEECH IN AMERICA???
Subject:

From: "Al Heisler" aheisler@worldnet.att.net

Why is it that I and others such as I, apparently must lose or give up our right
to "free speech? when and if we choose to criticize or say anything not in
complete agreement with the present Bush administration, its policies, its
actions, its pre-emptive war in Iraq, its shredding of our Constitution bit by
bit, or if we criticize any of the present members of his cabinet or staff and
dare to disagree with what they say????
Yet
those who agree with this administration feel that they alone are allowed to
exercise their right to "free speech? when they criticize and denounce us as
unpatriotic and un-American for having the audacity to exercise our right to
speak freely and openly! Why is their right to free speech more precious than
mine?
Aren't
we all entitled to speak freely, or is that right of our freedom only OK if we
agree with everything that those appointed by the Supreme Court, say?? I?m
waiting for the day that this administration decides to declare that free speech
is against the law. What a terrible thought!!
What
ever happened to "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the
death your right to say it????

REMEMBERING NYC IN THE '70S
Subject: Memories of Melody Burlesque: New York 70s houses!

From: blue sky newsreader99@yahoo.com

Hi
I read your website on SCREW and the whorehouses in NYC during the 70s. That was some time! I miss it very much.
I grew up during that time. Riding the F train, E train, up and down, the A Train, having
felafels in Greenwich Village, 50 c pizza slices, hot dogs and papaya juice at Gray's Papaya.. And then the sex: The streets used to be lined up with
really nice looking girls. The 8th Ave corner from 42nd and 8th, right around
from the subway entrance. I once went into a place there with a beautiful Venezuelan girl for $ 10 plus $ 10 for
room. That quality sex now costs $ 400 to $ 1000 in Vegas. I am talking 1976. Then, I also went to Tahitia and
The Harem around 53rd and Lexington.
You are right about these places. The girl cost $ 50 and the total came out to be
$ 80, in luxurious class. Car jobs, you could get them in Brooklyn near the bridge and in Queens Northern Blvd. Best of all: the opportunity to see and
meet real legendary porn stars during that time.
At the Melody Burlesque, I saw all the top ones. First I used to go to the Pussycat theater around the corner
(49th street and Bway), and then to Melody. In fact, I think Melody was in the next block up. I met Seka, Desiree Cousteau, Serena,
and others. I met Annette Haven at the Pussycat. Apart from these there were
secondary stars like Beth Anna (Joanna Miguel) who was really fantastic with blowjobs
like Vanessa del Rio herself. My first meeting at Melody, it was Serena (Serena
Blaquelord?). The best films were there on the screen in 35 mm. V THE HOT ONE, INSATIABLE,
BLONDE ON FIRE, BLONDES HAVE MORE FUN, SENSATIONAL JANINE, TALK DIRTY TO ME, CHERYL HANSEN COVERGIRL, BAD GIRLS,
BLONDE IN BLACK SILK, EASY,,etc.
I always wonder what happened to Jessie St. James of EASY and TALK DIRTY? She was one reall hot looking. There was some issue at the Melody
and so it was closed down and re-opened as Harmony Burlesque but the quality was gone maybe. At the Show World center at corner
of 42nd and 8th, that was also hot. I saw Lisa de Leeuw there. She laughed in loud manner. Right above the subway entrance to
42nd and 8th, there was a very good cheap place called TANFASTIC. I met Maria, Carmen, others there. $10 entry, $15 sex.
Individual rooms. You had to sign your "name" at a register when you entered their
lobby upstairs and the girls would be waiting in one line. You take a token and wait
and when you like a girl just give her the token. Very guaranteed sex.
As soon as you left Manhattan and ventured towards New Jersey the climate changed.
The rest of the country was just one big New Jersey.
Thank you for sharing your experiences. NYC was a real enjoyable place then.
